Enjoy live music by Perc Ens as you wander the galleries with performances at 11 am and 1 pm. (Please note new Music in the Galleries performance times – a break will occur from 12-1 pm.) The performances are included with Museum admission, no registration required. Seating is limited and first come, first served. The music may be enjoyed from any gallery.
Perc Ens is a minimalism percussion ensemble, performing high intensity yet low volume acoustic compositions. Inspired by composers Steve Reich and Terry Riley, Perc Ens achieves moments of flourished epiphany juxtaposed against droning repetition, like a tacitly humble solo shaker. The latest release, Hear Yourself, is marimba, bells, drum set, and hand percussion, all composed to showcase the melody, rhythm, and timbre of each instrument. Learn more.
