Event Description

Join History Colorado on June 30 from 4 to 6 pm at the Center for Colorado Women’s History for the workshop, Historical LGBTQ+ Erasure & Reclamation Through Poetry with Twenty Bellows.

This generative workshop will explore Queer history at the historic home onsite at the Center for Colorado Women’s History with a particular focus on Anne Evans’ contributions to the culture and growth of Denver as well as her personal strife and successes. Marissa Forbes of Twenty Bellows and Sarah Herrin of Beyond the Veil Press will facilitate exercises in erasure and collaborative poetry. Participants will explore original sources and create their own erasure poems along with generating short stanza(s) in an exercise of an exquisite corpse collaboration inspired by the revelations offered during the exploration of the historic home.
