¡Viva! Streets Denver is a free community event series that celebrates Denver’s vibrant neighborhoods and supports local business with temporary car-free streets. Over four Sundays from May through August, approximately 3.5 miles of Broadway and Welton St. will close to cars and open to people!
The first ¡Viva! Streets event on May 14 was a blast with a huge number of Denver folks walking, rolling, scooting, eating, playing, hula-hooping and more down 3.5 miles of a completely car-free Broadway and Welton Street. The next event is on June 4 from 8 am to 2 pm.
Will you sign up to help out? Volunteers are needed to help keep the few road crossings that are open safe and organized, and to make sure event attendees are having a great time. These events can’t happen without an adequate number of volunteers.
Opportunities are available for morning, afternoon, and all-day volunteer shifts (all-day comes with free lunch!). Before or after your shift, you’re welcome and encouraged to check out the fun and celebrate open streets with your neighbors. If you’re able to sign up for more than one event, the next dates are July 9 and August 6. Sign up to volunteer.
To add to the fun, A Taste of Colorado will run concurrently at Denver’s Civic Center Park during the May 14, June 4 and July 9 ¡Viva! Streets events from 8 am through 4 pm!
