Event Description

Join the Denver Art Museum on January 4 from 6 to 7:15 pm for the second session of their four-part course titled Drawn to France: American Painters & Their Patrons, coinciding with the exhibition Whistler to Cassatt: American Painters in France.

This talk will cover Impressionism’s Summers with Annette Stott, Professor of Art History at the University of Denver. In this image-filled lecture, Stott will discuss some of the many summer artists’ colonies the Impressionists created or transformed in Europe and the United States. Learn where they went, why, how they lived, their relationships with local populations and how this experience shaped the development of American Impressionism.
